Bob, with assistance from Tom M, reminded members that members pay $30 each for the excellent meals we enjoy at the Pier. The Club pays the Pier $28 for each meal so if members forget to put in an apology the Club ends up paying for their meal.
So the silent member from this week will be invoiced for the cost of their uneaten meal.
[It was wasted as Andrew & Scottish were not there to assist!! A/Ed]

Guest speaker:

Kerr F-P introduced Rob Griffith from 103.9 Hopefm Radio station.
(Bringing Hope. Sharing Joy. Building Community.).

Rob spoke about the station which is a not for profit community radio station run by volunteers for the Sunshine Broadcasters Board. It is run entirely by volunteers and broadcasts 40-42 hours live per week. As a community radio station it is limited to 5 minutes of advertising per hour so anyone advertising knows their ads get listened to! Hopefm is Christian based and has been broadcasting for 20 years. It can be received within a 60-70km radius. They have three studios – one for live broadcasts; one for recording and one which is an outside studio in boxes. They have been given a caravan to convert into an outside broadcasting unit – still need $3000 to complete its fitout. Rob invited Rotary to partner Hopefm and extended an invitation for members to visit.

Rob was thanked by Katie Williams.
