Busking Competition
$800 Prize money

Saturday 31 December 2016 from 5pm
on the Esperance Foreshore in front of the Whale Tail.

Hosted and coordinated by the Esperance Bay Rotary Club, the Busking Competition is poised to become a popular and hopefully regular event.  Based on the National Busking competition hosted annually by the Rotary Club of Cooma, the Esperance event invites Musicians, Magicians, Comedians and anyone who has a talent to showcase, to compete for the generous cash prizes on offer.

First place as judged by the audience will win $500.  Second prize will be $200 and $100 will be awarded to the act with merit as judged by the President of the Rotary Club of Esperance Bay, Mr Brian Tolhurst. Winners will be announced prior to the fireworks.

Diesel Crawford, a familiar local identity in the Esperance music scene, is supporting the Rotary Club of Esperance Bay to conduct this event.  Diesel is an experienced sound technician and provides state of the art speakers and sound equipment, ensuring the transition between acts is smooth and the sound quality befitting of the talent.

Entrants are welcome to set up themselves anywhere along the foreshore from 3pm, prior to the competition.  Judging / voting will only occur during the official busking competition between 5 pm and 8.30 pm. Each act will be given the stage for a total time of 10 minutes, and will be assisted by a stage and sound technician to ensure they are able to give their best performance.
Entry Forms for the Busking Competition can be downloaded from the Rotary Club of Esperance Bay website - www.rcesperancebay.org, the RCEB Facebook page or by email from Renae Poot at renae.poot@health.wa.gov.au.  Entries close Wednesday 28 December, so start practicing! The Busking Competition is one of many activities planned for the Esperance Foreshore Festival and Fireworks 2016.   The festival is a FREE, family friendly, alcohol free community event incorporating local Esperance produce, talent and showcasing the spirit of Esperance at its finest.  This is the third year the Rotary Club of Esperance Bay has facilitated this event for the Esperance Community.  Each year is bigger and better than the previous.
The Rotary Club of Esperance Bay encourages you to come along and be involved.

The festival will be held on Saturday 31 December 2016 and will open from 3pm with entertainment and activities for all ages, food vendors and market stalls and culminating in a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm with a simulcast soundtrack played on HopeFM.
